Donald L. “Doc” Ganoe, 63, of Gregory’s Run, passed away at 10:04am, Saturday, May 15, 2021 at the Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. He was born in Clarksburg, January 21, 1958, a son of the late Wilco E. and Nida Del Baker Ganoe. He is survived by his wife Maria E. Napoletano Ganoe, whom he married June 11, 1983.

Also surviving are two children, Amber Ganoe, of Shinnston and Matthew Ganoe, of Morgantown; his siblings: Denise Bennett and her husband Danny, Belinda “Suzie” Sappington, Tammie Heflin and her husband Danny, Pauline “Binky” Collins; his brother-in-law, Albert Bailey, his nephews and nieces: Daniel “Tink” Bennett and his wife Carla, Ty Collins and his wife Ali, Barry, Dennis, and Bobby Baker, Sam Ganoe and his companion Tanya, Johnna Markley, great nieces and nephews, Dominick, Isabella, and Lillyana, and a special little buddy that was his great nephew, Branson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Kathy Baker and Roberta Sue “Bertie” Ayers.
Doc was a very hard worker who was employed with the Harrison Power Station for 43 years. He was dedicated to the UWUA Local 304 where he served as the first Secretary Treasurer and long-time trustee. He was a 1976 graduate of Lumberport High School. Doc loved to ride his motorcycle and was very dedicated to “Bikers for a Cure”. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching the Mountaineers. Doc loved his family and will be terribly missed.
The family will receive friends at the Perine Funeral Home, 1348 S. Pike St., Shinnston, from 2-8pm, Thursday and from 10am until the time of the service at 1pm, Friday, May 21, with Pastor Tim Sandy officiating. Cremation will follow the services.
