Jacqueline J. Heater, 67, of Lumberport passed away on Friday, March 5, 2021 at her home with her family by her side. She was born March 23, 1953 in Aurora, Colorado a daughter of the late Paul E. and Phyllis Jane Whiteaker Smith.

She is survived by her loving husband, Offie Ruck Heater, whom she married on February 24, 1981. Also surviving are her children, Mark Smith of Lamberts Run; Crystal Heater of Lumberport; and Kayla Heater of Charleston; her grandchildren, River Smith of Lumberport; Hunter Smith of Lamberts Run; and Bradley Heater of Charleston; her special cousin, Frankie Gabor and her daughter, Lydia of Worthington; good friends, Miranda Tucker and her son Matthew of Fairmont; Mandy Elder of Lumberport; Shannon Mackey and her sons, Michael and Damon of Grafton; and her good friend and former father-in-law, Bill Keener and former sister-in-law, Lavada Donachy.
She was preceded in death by her step-son, Todd Heater and her friend, Helen Gowdy
Jacqueline was a Certified Nursing Assistant and was employed at St. Barbara’s Nursing Home in Monongah for over 20 years. She loved her children and grandchildren. Jacqueline enjoyed camping, baking, and especially cook-outs with her friends.
A memorial service will be held at Perine Funeral Home, 1348 S. Pike St. Shinnston, on Wednesday at 6:00 pm. The family will receive friends that evening from 4:00 pm until the time of the service. A member of the family, Dave Cunningham, will officiate the service. Cremation services are provided by Perine Funeral Home.
