Briar Calhoun Harbert, 6, of Gregory’s Run, Clarksburg, passed away on April 10, 2020 at Ruby Memorial Hospital.

He was born August 8, 2013 in Fairmont a son of Jason Moletus Harbert and Michelle Marie Dotson Harbert who survive him at home. He is also survived by his brothers, Dakota Dotson; Chayton Harris; and Jason “Jace” Harbert, all at home; his cousins whom he loved to play with, Makenna and Rosella Bowen; and cousin, Ammory Faucette of AL; his aunt, Contessa Dotson and her companion Matthew Hussell of Wallace; Uncle, Shane Dotson of Wallace; his great-grandmother, Anna Bland of Mt. Clare; great-aunts and uncles, George and Marian Bland of Mt. Clare; Michael and Angela Blair of KS; Kevin and Jennifer Dotson of Lumberport; Ricky and Bernice Dotson of TN; Danny Dotson of Clarksburg; and Irene Dotson of Shinnston; cousins, Mike Blair of and Stephanie Eakin; as well as many other cousins. Briar is also survived by his teacher, Mrs. Davis, whom he loved.
Briar was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Gary and Debra Dotson; paternal great-grandparents, Hayward and Maxine Harbert; great-grandmother, Florence Dotson; great-grandfather, Roger Heater; great-aunts, Judy Dotson; and Linda Shreves; and his great-uncle, Timmy Dotson.
Briar always had a smile on his face. He touched the lives and was loved by everyone that he met. Briar loved all animals and was especially fond dinosaurs. Briar also loved catching crawl dads and minnows in the creek with his best friend and older brother Jace. If you saw Briar, you saw Jace. Briar also enjoyed playing poker, nerf battles, and fishing with his dad and brothers.
A graveside funeral service will be held at the Edgell – Dotson Cemetery on Little Elk Rd. in Wallace on Saturday, April 18, 2020 at 11:00 am with Pastor Mike Hamrick officiating. Online condolences can be shared with the family at www.perinefunerals.com.
