Louise Margaret McLearn McGinnis, 97, of Isaac Creek passed away on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born February 14, 1922 in Oakland, MD a daughter of the late Earl William and Margaret Ellis McLearn.

On September 12, 1943 she married Gerald “Rex” McGinnis, Sr. who preceded her in death on February 28, 2009.
She is survived by her three daughters, Carolyn Jones and her husband Bernard of Shinnston; Barbara Robey and her husband Duane of Dola; Sharon Todd and her husband John of Isaac Creek; and her son, Gerald McGinnis, Jr. of Isaac Creek. Also surviving are seven grand-children, David Jones and wife Tammy of Teays Valley; Tina Smith and husband Douglas of Hutchinson; Michael Robey and wife Rebecca of Lumberport; Brian Robey and wife Alicia of Lumberport; Sarah Portillo and husband Julian of Looneyville; Elizabeth Battisti and husband Anthony of Clarksville, TN; and Kelly Nixon and husband Jacob of Richmond, VA; as well as her 14 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Louise was preceded in death by two brothers.
Louise was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She attended Isaac Creek Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved having family picnics where everyone enjoyed her chicken and dumplings and butterscotch pies. The family would like to thank WVU Hospice nurses, Tessa, Emily, and Lizzy as well as her loving caregivers, Linda, Marie, and Nicole for their excellent care.
The family will receive friends at Perine Funeral Home, 1348 S. Pike St. Shinnston, on Monday from 4-7 pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 19th at 11:00 am with Pastor Chad Hutson officiating. Interment will follow at the Shinnston Memorial Cemetery.
