Lyle Edward “Eddie” Swiger, 62 of Clarksburg passed away September 24, 2019. Eddie was born July 8, 1957 in Clarksburg and grew up in the Rhinehart Community of Wallace. He is survived by his son Bryan Keith Swiger, daughter-in-law Megan (MacBryde) Swiger, grandson, Bruce Edward Swiger and his daughter Karah Alayne Swiger McIntire and son-in law Chaz McIntire. Eddie is also survived by his brother Howard Dale Swiger and wife Marty, and by three sisters Naida Ashcraft, Nancy Hadley and husband Terry and Donna Swiger. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Ellen Swiger and brother-in-law Edgar Ashcraft. Eddie was a 1976 graduate of Lumberport High School and a graduate of the United Career Center. He retired from being a Class 1 Water Operator working for the Short Line Public Service District for 36 years and also the Hutchison Water Association dedicating many hard working hours to keep the customers he served with service. Most recently, he was employed by Veolia as a water plant operator. Eddie enjoyed many years as a member of the Wallace Volunteer Fire Department and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. His hobbies included hunting on the Swiger Family Farm in Doddridge County and going to auctions and flea markets.

The family will receive friends at the Perine Funeral Home, 1348 S. Pike St., Shinnston, from 4-8pm, Sunday, where funeral services will be held at 11am, Monday, September 30, 2019.
