Dr. Bill is survived by his son, Jason Miller and his wife Katelyn; and his grandson, Jason Miller, all of Lumberport. Also surviving are his sister, Linda Miller Cyphers of Worthington; and his older brother, Tim Miller and his wife Char of Pennsboro; as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. In addition to his parents, Dr. Bill was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Rachel.
He enjoyed amateur radio and attending motorcycle rallies. He was a member of the 886 Foundation as well as the Patriot Guard Riders. Dr. Bill was always there for military funerals, flag raising ceremonies, bridge dedications, and “welcome home” events for veterans. He would do anything to support our veterans and first responders. Early in his adult life, he was an active member of the local police reserves. Dr. Bill loved professional wrestling and could always be found at local matches. He was employed in the maintenance department at Fairmont State University for many years until his health forced him to an early retirement. He endured kidney dialysis three days a week for almost twelve years.
Dr. Bill loved socializing and never met a stranger. He was always helping the less fortunate. He was the first one to get there and the last one to leave when someone needed help.
The family would like to thank the staff and patients at Davita Dialysis Center for their many wonderful and caring years. He loved you all so very much. As well as the doctors, nurses, and staff at United Hospital Center for their caring touch. And Perine Funeral Home for their dedication and service.
Dr. Bill wished to have a celebration of life, not death and, most of all, to take his last motorcycle ride to deposit his ashes upon the graves of his mother and father in Fairmont. His Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 14th at Perine Funeral Home, 1348 S. Pike St. Shinnston. The family will receive friends that day from 11:00 am until the time of the service. Following the service, a motorcycle procession will take Dr. Bill to Fairmont going past Fairmont State University, through East Fairmont to East Grafton Rd. ending at Grandview Memorial Gardens. All are invited to join the celebration.
Dr. Bill loved everyone!
