Ralph Spagnuolo of Shinnston, WV passed away May 29, 2019 with his family by his side. Ralph was born June 5, 1934 in Gypsy, WV, son of Lucy (Moschella) and Antonio Spagnuolo. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Viviane (Durivault) Spagnuolo whom he met in France while serving in the US Army, his devoted children Chris Spagnuolo (wife Michelle) – Goldsboro, NC, Joelle Loretta (husband James) – Shinnston, WV, his adoring grandchildren Vincent and Dominic Spagnuolo and Giana and Santino Loretta, his very special sister-in-law and brother-in-law Sam and Gisele Spero, sister Carmel Ewart (husband Jack), and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Ralph was also preceded in death by his brothers Edrick, Roger, Louie, Manuel, Pete, Neil, Anthony, and Joe; sisters Mary and Anna Mae.
Ralph (Spag) operated Spag’s Service Station and Towing business in Shinnston for over 35 years and was known as one of the hardest working men around. If it was broken – he could fix it. He was proud of his family and found the most joy in watching his grandchildren in their various activities. The Spag’s 36 race team will miss their crew chief tremendously.
The family will receive friends at the Perine Funeral Home, 1348 S. Pike St., Shinnston, from 2-8pm, Sunday. A Catholic Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10am, Monday, June 3, 2019 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Shinnston. Entombment will be in the Shinnston Memorial Cemetery and Mausoleum where full military honors will be accorded by the U.S. Army National Guard and the Harrison County Honor Guard.
