I was very blessed to have met this wonderful lady whom I dearly called my sister, one of my best friends. I met her circa 1983. I just happened to be working for her mother-in-law as I was living in Enterprise. We were introduced and once that happened we were off and running. She invited me and my three-year-old daughter, Veronica to her home. We interacted with her children and her husband, Jim. We did a little bit of everything together. Veronica always wanted to go to Aunt Pammie's and Uncle Jim's to go swimming in their pool and to see what Bubbie was up to as she had a "crush" on Bub (Smiles). She and her family always made us feel very welcome and loved. She was the epitome of grace and class but she did not mind telling you she did not give "a rat's ---" about something when she said that every time she said that I would just crack-up with laughter. She was an amazing cook and she and I shared many a meal at her home. I just loved her homemade rolls and noodles. Makes you wanna slap your mama, type of mouth waterin' home-cooking. Sometimes we would just sit out on her porch drinking R.C. cola's chatting about any and everything as we enjoyed the warm fresh air with the occasional breeze. I moved away to Washington, D.C. and when I moved back, we just picked up right where we left off. I had another daughter, Stefanie and she experienced that kind of love from Pam and her family that I came to love and rely on. Stefanie and Veronica loved their Aunt Pammie and Uncle Jim. My daughters both had problems with Math in school but when their Uncle Jim helped them both with their homework he had a way of explaining in which they both understood. I brought my husband down to Lumberport he really enjoyed Pam and the quiet country life. He quickly gave her the name, "Mrs. Claus." I have never met a person like her and I know there will never be another Pamela Rae. She is one of a kind, God broke the mold when he made her. God blessed me when he placed her very gently and carefully into my life. I will always hold the memories I have with her so near and dear to my heart. I mourn because she is gone but I am also happy because she is no longer suffering and she is running, upstairs dancing and singing with her longtime love Jim.

When I read this, I burst into tears. In my job as secretary in the local schools, I got to know Pam very well. She was truly a wonderful person and loved by everybody who knew her. But I know I will be with her again one day.
