Herbert “Junior” Halpenny, 91, of Wyatt passed away on March 6, 2019 at his home following an extended illness.

He was born November 19, 1927 a son of the late Herbert and Kathleen “Katy” Booth Halpenny.
Junior was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Betty Jane Sickles Halpenny. He was also preceded by three sisters and one brother.
He is survived by his daughter, Donna (Larry) Evans of Wyatt; his grandson, Chris (April) Halpenny of Bingamon; his granddaughter, Carla (James) Sendling of Wyatt; two great-grandchildren, Alisha and Zachary Evans; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Junior was a hardworking man. He retired from CONSOL Energy’s Blacksville #2 mine. For most of his life, Junior was a farmer who enjoyed being outdoors with his cattle and hayfields. He dearly loved his family and spending time with them.

The family will receive friends at Perine Funeral Home, 1348 S. Pike St. Shinnston, on Friday from 4-8 PM. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, March 9th at 11:00 AM with Pastor Richard Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at the Wyatt I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
