Deloris I. Woolard, 80, of Lumberport passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born in Richwood, WV on September 21,1939, a daughter of the late Fred and Ruby Fenton Keener, of Wallace WV. She was preceded in death by her late husband Fred R. Woolard whom died on March 26, 2004. Her life was dedicated to raising her family, enjoying friends and being a good neighbor. On weekends you could find her enjoying the Nascar Races and cheering on her favorite driver. She enjoy the outdoors and loved the summer. She was a life time member of the UMWA and a strong advocate for the coal miners. She was the true essence of "A Coal Miners Daughter". Deloris was a long time member of the American Legion Post 31 Women's Auxiliary and The Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 929. Her greatest treasure were her family both immediate and extended. Deloris was an amazing homemaker wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. She cared deeply about the small children and loved their visits. Deloris was preceded in death by five siblings; Mary Agnes, in infancy, brother Wade, brother, Grady and brother Robert (Bob) Keener, and sister Helen Keener Tucker. She was preceded in death by one granddaughter Amie Lee Sampson. Surviving are son Keith L. Dye of Oklahoma, three daughters, Kathy Hershman and husband John of Grafton, Karen Vecchio and husband Jerry of Fairmont and Beatrice Woolard of Lumberport. She also is survived by seven grandsons, Bobby Hanna and wife Alison, Brian Dye and wife Beverly, Eric Dye, Jason Dye and wife Destiney, Roy Sampson II and wife Stacy, Jared Vecchio and Tony Saporito. She is survived by sixteen great grand children and one great great grand daughter. She was Baptist by faith. Deloris will be missed by all.
The Family will receive friends at the Perine Funeral Home, 1348 S. Pike St., Shinnston from 4-8pm, Thursday where funeral services will be held at 1pm, Friday with Pastor Chad Hutson officiating.
