John Dayton Drummond, Jr., 74, of Lumberport, passed away on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at United Hospital Center. He was born May 27, 1947, in Fairmont, a son of the late, John Dayton Drummond Sr. and Maxine Barker Drummond Holbert.

He is survived by his loving wife, Virginia “Jenny” Martin Drummond, whom he married on January 6, 1968.
Also surviving are his three sons, James Drummond of Wyatt; Larry Drummond of Cambria; and Jerry “Puz” Drummond of Lumberport; his daughters, Terri Daft of Fairmont; and Sherri Drummond of Shinnston; his grandchildren, Hannah Drummond; James Lucas; Gage Drummond; Brittany Drummond; Logan Drummond; Sierra Richardson; Emily Drummond; Taylor Daft; and Colton Daft; his great-grandchildren, Ebby; Silas; Conner; James; Blake; Stephanie; Avery; Aiden; Adeline; and Layne; as well as his sisters, Linda McIntire and her husband Dave of Bingamon; and Trudy Robinson and her husband Spenser of Rachel; and his brother, Eddie Holbert of Bingamon.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his brothers, William “Bubbles” Drummond; Randy and Tommy Holbert; and his step-father, Merle Holbert.
John was employed by Hawkins Lumber. He enjoyed painting cars and all forms of mechanic work as well as hunting. John was a member of Higher Rock Ministry where he enjoyed traveling to revivals with Pastor Sandy. He truly loved spending time and sharing ice cream with his grandchildren.
Friends will be received at Perine Funeral Home, 1348 S. Pike St. Shinnston, on Saturday from 2-8pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Sunday at 2:00 pm with Pastors Tim Sandy and Jerry Helmick officiating. Interment will follow at the Oakdale Cemetery.
