Obituary for Gregg Knight

Gregg  Knight
Gregg Brainard Knight, 70, of Wallace passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at his residence. He was born March 30, 1947 in Clarksburg a son of the late Ralph and Imogene Rachel Lavat.
He is survived by his children, Gregory Wade Knight and his spouse Randall of Oakland, CA; James Kenneth Knight and his wife Ashley of Camarillo, CA; Vickie Ellen Mooney and her husband James of Parkersburg; and Susan Marie Crock and husband Christopher of Wallace; his step-daughter, Melanie Dawn Campbell of Clarksburg; his grandchildren, Olivia Ellen and Isaak Mooney; Kendall X. Knight; Kadence M. and Kambre E.C. Crock; and Calista L. Hall; also surviving are his sister, Laurie Newton of Seattle, WA; and his brothers, Barry Brainard of Fishers, IN; and Criss Brainard of El Cajon, CA; as well as his best buddy, Leslie Riley of Clarksburg.
Gregg was preceded in death by his sister, Debby Taylor as well as his grandparents, Ovid Wade and Gertrude Knight.
He served our country in the U.S. Navy. Gregg was a Deputy and retired from the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department in 2000. He was the State Director of the WV Chapter of MUFON. Gregg was a member of the Blue Knights Motorcycle Club and the National Rifle Association. He loved to shoot guns, go fishing, and was an avid Ham Radio Operator.
A memorial service will be held at the Little Rock Camp Church 3036 Trouser Leg Rd. in Wallace on Saturday, October 21st at 1:00 PM with Pastor Skip Watkins officiating. Online condolences can be shared with the family at www.perinefunerals.com
